Tv Season Info

Season two of this modern fable set in Long Beach, CA centers on likable "Squire" and ex-surfer Sean "Dud" Dudley (Wyatt Russell), whose beloved fraternal order -- the Ancient and Benevolent Order of the Lynx -- is suffering under new rule by an ill-suited leader. Despite his "Knight" and mentor Ernie's (Brent Jennings) lost faith, and his twin sister Liz's (Sonya Cassidy) struggle with their past, Dud believes he is the key to restoring the Lodge to its former grandeur and putting the rightful king on the throne. In addition to Russell, Jennings and Cassidy, this season's cast includes Linda Emond (Connie), Eric Allan Kramer (Scott) and David Pasquesi (Blaise).

The show is full of sly signs, portents, and odd, incidental details that end up paying out many episodes later.

We predict Season 2 will have more viewers than Season 1.

Lodge 49 has big ambitions - it's a series primarily about why American society feels like it's coming apart at the seams, after all - beneath its easygoing sensibility.

For viewers who are tuned to that distinct wavelength, Lodge 49 continues to be a unique gem whose continuation during the age of Peak TV is nothing short of a miracle itself.

Lodge 49 is both whimsical and pragmatic, a cacophonous collection of divergent ideologies that through some bewildering alchemy not only works but thrives.

There is something quiet and nice about a show that is, well, quiet and nice.

Somehow the actors and writers throw equal parts of mundane reality into a bowl of bizarre and whipped the combination of reality and fantasy into a cream thick enough to hold up. It feels right and not quite right at the same time.

What comes next is a series of strange and fascinating tableaux which, although I'm happy to let this beautiful show just wash over me, I couldn't resist pausing and rewinding in order to make sense of the iconography.

Lodge 49 is a show that's all over the place and yet feels elegantly and confidently arced, rather than haphazard. It's silly and profound, deep and frivolous.

If Lodge 49 often seems to be about nothing, it also manages to say a lot about everything: hopes and dreams and disappointments, and finding reasons to go on when there doesn't seem to be much point.

Quirky and strange, completely loveable characters and engrossing story. I've never seen anything like it. Wholly original. Worth every second.

A show that up until recently I had never heard of but came across its high ratings on RT and decided to give it a go. Am very pleased that I did - a very difficult show to describe but it takes me on a surreal journey in every episode with its quirky characters, excellent acting and dialogue. Sad, funny and stupid at times and definitely won't appeal to everyone. It certainly appeals to my own warped sense of humour !

Always a surprise. Likable characters never react in predictable ways. Such fun to watch. Leading man Dub, with his optimistic nature despite always recovering from some surf related accident, is a nice contrast to his downbeat yet adorable sister. If you haven't watched "Lodge 49" give it a chance to live among us who are just trying to get by in life. It's a great ride.

Season 1 was the best show that year and season 2 is off to a great start!

Great show! If you are looking for something different that will take you on a journey, this is a great show to watch! It's not mind numbing like a lot of TV today. The mysteries of the Lodge are fun, but the real strength lies in the characters. The characters are well developed and the relationships between them are written brilliantly. They are cast even better, with one of the strongest ensembles I've seen on TV. In particular David Pasquesi as the alchemical healer Blaise (I'm glad he found another great show to showcase his talents after Veep), and Brent Jennings as the everyman Ernie. Even the small bit characters are well written and cast. Jeremy (Daniel Stewart Sherman) as the manager of a bad "Tilted Kilt" knockoff breastaurant and Burt (Joe Grifasi) as the scamming pawn shop power are two great examples. Then of course there is the brilliant Brian Doyle Murry who is another great standout. All and all if you are looking for a great show to watch, especially streaming, this is the show. You should know the first 3-4 episodes of season 1 are a little slow, but then it really starts to pick up and take you on a Magnum Opus. Looking forward to seeing the rest of season 2!
